CONCEPT
Based on the original story of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ by Lewis Carrol, this promenade performance takes place in Lincolnshire at the Engine Shed located on University campus. This unique story follows a student named Alice to a pop up retro toy sale at her university. All is well until the sale room turns red and a secret hidden door opens, revealing a hidden world that Alice should not cross. Upon her adventure she stumbles across strange and eerie characters that live in a life-size dollhouse. As Alice continues throughout the sinister rooms, she will uncover a secret the dolls have been living by as well as who controls them all. Could Alice be biting off more than she can chew ?
The design is inspired by theatrical design due to its simple structures and heavy focus on lighting. The aim of this project was to use semiotics from the original script and to adapt them to our story. The design was built on Fusion, rendered on Twin Motion. Presentation boards and flythrough where made on Premier Pro and Photoshop.
